Meadow court Stud
This is a project consisting of the addition of a gate lodge, a security building, stables and a Farm manager’s and staff housing to an existing horse stud farm in Co. Kildare.
Set within Maddenstown Demesne, Meadow Court Stud is at the heart of the‘’Thorough bred County’’ and within close proximity to the Irish National Stud, The Turf Club, The Racing Academy (RACE), Horse Racing Ireland and numerous bloodstock support services. The original stud was founded by P. Prendergast who had great success. The land has a strong history of producing strong, healthy horses and has offered both livery and sales consigning in addition to its own breeding programme. The newowner’s intention is to build on these traditions to grow a world class competitive stud farm. With the The Curragh, Naas and Punchestown race courses in the surrounding townlands and the ubiquitous placement of some of the world’s best stud farms within Kildare, the proposed improvement works to Meadow Court Stud Farm will only further enhance there putation and standing of Kildare and Ireland on the world Thoroughbred Racehorse stage. The proposed works outlined in this application form an initial phase of proposed investment in Meadow Court Stud Farm.
It is intended, through a high level of design, that the proposed new insertions and enhancements will rejuvenate the current farm and its environs. A contemporary design approach that is both sensitive to traditional vernacular farm building proportions and materials as well as the proposed use and demands of a modern stud farm will ensure that the proposed works will blend sympathetically to the current site environs.
