Transforming a brownfield site into 12 high-end apartments, this project maximizes space with thoughtful design, blending historical context and industrial-style interiors for modern living.

Apartment design, high-end residential development, and regenerating a town centre brownfield site. The design for these apartments maximizes the potential of a narrow, town-centre plot to create 12 beautiful new homes. The stepped massing of the residential block as well as narrowing of the ends lessen the overall massing and the development and improve the relationship with the neighbouring houses. MDP have sensitively designed a building which is informed by the historical context and local vernacular, enclosing a courtyard within the development. Careful consideration has been given to the form and massing to ensure that it sits harmoniously among the neighboring buildings. The interior design and fit-out has a industrial design look & feel with exposed architecture elements — such as exposed concrete walls, brick, polished concrete floors, and steel.
A special thanks to our client who let us push the boundary’s on the design, and the full design team, main contractors and sub-contractors, a lot of hard work and dedicated went into this project, so well done all. Bretland CORA Consulting Engineers PMEP Consulting Ltd.
Also a shout out to Matthew Keating who ran this project from start to finish and lived the project for 2 years.
