This composition of floating and grounded box elements frame the views of Dunmore East and overlook Hook Lighthouse in the distance. The concept was to create a house that would become a platform from which the panorama could be enjoyed and appreciated. The elevated terraced areas allow the occupants enjoy an unobstructed view from a previously inaccessible or underutilised vantage points on the site. The materiality of the building reflects its coastal location and ensures the design is of its place.
